Utag Software Update Service

We are pleased to announce our new UTAG software update service.

If you purchased the very first Utag digital Dog Tag or Utag ICE Card you will have
the old version 1.0 or 1.1 software. You can check this by plugging in your UTAG
and checking the version number on the top left of the public information screen
as shown below.

PRINT FUNCTION - The new print function enables the Doctor or Nurse in A&E
to print out the information you have entered on the viewable UTAG screen.

Printing this information can speed up the process of 'booking you in' and so the details can be shown to multiple people at the same time if required, as you will see in the UTAG screenshot below the new print function on the UTAG Software V1.2 is located at the top middle of the screen.

PRIVATE FOLDER - If you are constantly on the move, it is a good idea to carry copies of vital documents such as passport, driving licence, travel documents, health insurance membership etc. with you. ‘The ‘Private Folder’ gives you the opportunity to save copies of these documents (and any other document / spreadsheet you require) into a folder on your UTAG.

As you save the document, it will ask for a password and UTAG will then encrypt the document so that it can only be accessed by using the password. This gives you the peace of mind that you have copies of everything you need with you in a secure form that only you can access. Once the document is open
it can be displayed or printed. If you no longer require it, it can simply be deleted.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

Before updating your UTAG to the new version software please note that ALL data that you have stored previously on the UTAG will be overwritten and the password you set will be replaced, the default password will now be the word without the brackets (password) of course you can change this once the Utag is updated.

Once you have downloaded the update file you will need to rename it to UTAG.zip
to do this please right click the file and choose rename then rename the file to UTAG.zip You will now be able to extract it using a program called WINZIP this is
free and can be downloaded by clicking here. You will be prompted to RUN or SAVE, choose save, and save it to your desktop, the winzip download is 12.5mb so should not take long to download if you have broadband.

Once you have downloaded Winzip double click the winzip setup icon and click run and then click setup, the installation will prompt you to install the Google Toolbar just press continue, then press next to continue, accept the license agreement, then press next, then next again, then next again leaving all the default options as they are, then press next again, and again press next. The program will now install. Once installed press next 3 more times. you are now done.

On your desktop now you will see the file UTAG v1.2 right click it and choose
"Extract to UTAG v1.2/ with you left mouse button, winzip will now extract the
UTAG update files onto your desktop.

Now on your desktop you will see a brown folder named UTAG v1.2 double click it
with your left mouse button. You will see 5 files and 2 folders within the folder, this
is what you will be transferring to your UTAG to update it.
