Motorcyclists are very aware that with the joys of biking come unavoidable risks and that accidents can happen. Some already carry contact information in case of emergency but it is difficult to make this visible and accessible and it can be easily overlooked.
The creator of UTAG wanted a product that could easily be seen and identified as containing emergency information and could be worn in a visible place (The first place a paramedic would look when checking your airways). It needed to carry all the important medical information that a rider felt was necessary to help in an emergency situation.
It had to give every rider the best possible chance of communicating with the emergency services, letting them know who to contact on their behalf and pass on any medical information they wanted to make available. It also needed to be something a rider would want to wear and would be seen as a worthwhile & fashionable accessory.
When we saw this product of course we had to buy one, when we recieved it we realised the potentiial of the Utag and decided to become involved with this exciting product.
Approximately 30 thousand Utag Digital Dog Tags and Utag Digital ICE Cards have been sold since the official launch in June 2008, the company is expanding throughout the world.
Hampshire Police Road Policing Unit have taken delivery of the Utag Digital Dog Tag.
The Renault Formula 1 team made the following comment :
